Frequently Asked Question:
1. Do I need a referral to see a cardiologist?
Yes. To access Medicare rebates for consultations and most cardiac investigations, you’ll need a valid referral from your GP or another specialist. GP referrals are usually valid for 12 months unless otherwise specified; specialist referrals are valid for 3 months If you’re unsure whether your referral is valid, our team can confirm it before your appointment.
2. What services are Medicare-rebatable?
Provided you have a valid referral, most of our services—such as initial and follow-up consultations, echocardiography, ECG, Holter monitoring, and stress echocardiography—are eligible for Medicare rebates. However, some preventive or screening-only services may be privately billed and not subsidised by Medicare.
3. What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring:
Your referral (GP or specialist)
Medicare card and concession/Pensioner card (if applicable)
A current list of medications
Any recent test reports (e.g., ECG, echo, CT)
Your preferred GP’s contact details for follow-up continuity.
4. Do you offer telehealth consultations?
Yes. We provide telehealth (video or phone) consultations for eligible patients—including follow-ups and review of test results, provided clinical care continuity is maintained.
5. What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling or rescheduling. Fees may apply for cancellations with short notice or missed appointments.
